No matter where you stick a Starbucks -- even if one were plopped down in the middle of a cornfield -- you will always find at least one car parked illegally along side it, hazard lights flashing, at any and all hours of the day.
The mere prospect of peace will forever inflame the greatest fears of the narrow-minded to violence.
The heart, once broken, will never again be whole.
Where there is power, you will find abuse of power.
Simple is more interesting than complex within art for it allows the viewer/reader/audience to engage their imagination. "Leave 'complex' to the mathematician," someone once said.
One man's hands are very, very small in comparison to the size of the world.
Strength and weakness travel as a pair.
The power of unconditional love can overtake any superhero power.

i would also add that the power of unconditional love can allow that broken heart to heal. it might not be whole, but it can beat again.
I like the addition of Lime to your ideas.
The simple over complex concept is interesting. It makes sense. But I imagine is not at all simple to actually create. (because you have to see it just right, see the bare beauty in it, pick the right stuff, like with fresh produce, and know just how much to add to it, a light touch to bring out the natural flavors, and you need to know when to leave it alone).
Sounds like something you do, serve us a moment, like a perfectly ripe peach.
Thank you. This is good for me to think over, and keep in mind.
Great list. I especially like the Starbucks one! :-)
These are all wonderful. I tried to pick a favorite and couldn't.
I love the picture, too.
David, there is a small award for you at my place when you get a chance to come by.
dropped by. Read, but did not really! Not the first time atleast. Thought of leaving a note but then realized that I don't know what I had read!! Then Just stopped and thought what I was thinking about in the first place and got it out of my way. Reread the post and reached the "strength and weakness travel as a pair". Even though my troubles aren't earth shattering really but enough to keep me distracted and unhappy. Its amazing how words can sometimes comfort you, as if they are like non-judgmental people who don't pry but just understand. Thank you so much.
lime _ I agree, Wise Lime, I agree wholeheartedly.
Taffiny _ To actually create something is the hard part. Goodness knows that there is no easy answer to that. And I tend to think that it is much harder to create something simple than complex. But I think you know more about the creative process than you give yourself credit for.
Shameless _ The Starbucks one was my favorites too. That places amazes me. It really does.
heartinsanfrancisco _ I am glad you liked the list and the picture. I wish I could tell you that the kid was me but alas, no. He is a cutie.
Karishma _ I am thrilled you dropped by. And very happy you came back to read. I am very humbled that these words in this list provided you some comfort. It was a mix of good and bad things in the list but, I hope, the "hopeful" far outweighed the "hopeless." Words have amazing power, don't they?
If you have a blog, I would love to return the visit.
This is a lovely list.
"The heart, once broken, will never again be whole" stands powerfully as it is, in my opinion. To leave unspoken the possibility of redemption.
"Strength and weakness" reminds me of something I once heard:
God and the Devil are like an old married couple - they go everywhere together, hand in hand.
Oh, I like these... truths that we have all experienced one way or another.
The serenity of the boy in the picture is very fitting. :-)
Reading the Signs _ Lovely comment, Signs, thank you. I like what you said very much. I am always surprised to realize that one's strengths, good and bad, often emerge from a place of weakness.
Vesper _ Yes, I like the boy very much. I would like to be him, someday.
Great list. I too like Lime's addition. Now, if only we knew these things when we were young... oh how much easier life would be!
Oh yes and yes again to your last observation. How very true.
irishkat _ Ah, perhaps it would have helped in youth, but there is a beauty in this knowledge coming with age. So glad you liked the list.
Absolute Vanilla _ Amazing isn't it? Why didn't I realize that before? Thanks for reading, kind Vanilla.
